In 2021 worldwide, all radio heard was “Radio Ga Ga.”

In a new extensive data report from Viberate, Queen was the most played rock band on the radio worldwide in 2021. According to the report, Queen racked up 2.9 million radio spins last year alone.

Per Viberate’s data, this amount was enough for Queen to rank fourth out of all artists in worldwide airplay. The three acts that beat them were The Weeknd (3 million), Dua Lipa (4.2 million) and Ed Sheeran (4.3 million.) Nipping at Queen’s heels was Maroon 5 who coincidently came in fifth with 2.8 million radio spins in 2021.

This should come as very little shock considering Queen also faired incredibly well on Billboard’s Year-End Rock Charts for 2021. The band landed in the top ten of a number of charts including “Top Rock Albums Artists” and even coming in at number one on the “Top Rock Albums” chart for their Greatest Hits compilation.

In other words: Even after forming five decades ago, Queen continues to reign supreme.
