Greta Van Fleet Postpone More Shows Due to Jake Kiszka’s Illness

Greta Van Fleet has been forced to postpone more tour dates due to guitarist Jake Kiszka still recovering from pneumonia.

The band shared a joint statement saying, in part, “We are disheartened to announce that the shows from March 22nd through April 2nd must be rescheduled for the health and safety of our brother, Jake. We recognize how upsetting this news is and share your disappointment.”

The statement continued, “While Jake has been discharged after being hospitalized for four days, he is still struggling with pneumonia and its symptoms. The healing process is long and slower than anticipated. Jake wanted to push through, however, doctors have advised doing so could potentially lead to further complications and a longer recovery.”

The band concluded, “This is only the beginning of the tour and it is important for Jake to heal so the rest of the Dreams in Gold 2022 tour can continue as planned through the rest of the year, starting in South America.” (GVF’s full statement can be read below.)

As previously reported, Greta Van Fleet shared on March 16 that Jake and singer Josh Kiszka were both dealing with non-Covid illnesses. On March 17, the band updated fans saying, “While Josh has mostly recovered, Jake’s diagnosis is more complex. What started as a small cough on Tuesday rapidly progressed overnight, requiring his admission to the hospital yesterday. The last 24 hours have been arduous as doctors were unsure of the exact illness. Fortunately, after further evaluation, they are confident in their diagnosis of pneumonia and an optimal course of treatment has been determined.”
