John Oliver is finding out the hard way how children can become attached to the unlikeliest of things.

The Last Week Tonight host is a father to two children, a six-year-old and a three-year-old, and it’s his youngest child that has developed a strange attachment to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Oliver talked about his child’s Chili Pepper fandom in an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon saying, “The three-year-old has gotten really into the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I wasn’t expecting it either, but he heard ‘Under the Bridge’ once and has become obsessed with it. It’s the only thing he wants to be played. It’s the only thing he wants sung to him at night, ‘Under the Bridge’ in particular.”

This toddler has even sung the classic track himself with Oliver noting, “You haven’t heard ‘Under the Bridge’ until you’ve heard a three-year-old gaze sorrowfully into the mid-distance and sing, ‘Sometimes I feel like I don’t have a partner/Sometimes I feel like my only fwend,’ with a ‘W’!”

At this point, Oliver has worked himself into a rant and added, “And can you imagine a three-year-old? ‘I don’t ever want to feel like I did that day’? What the f— do you know about pain?! At three years old?! I’ll tell you about pain! Like you did what day?! What day is such a bad memory for you?! You’re fine!”

Oliver then came down from his rant and said, “Basically, ‘Under the Bridge’ is his ‘Baby Shark’.”
