L.A. Angels Try Breaking Losing Streak with Help from Nickelback (It Didn’t Work)

The Los Angeles Angels are in the middle of a lengthy losing streak and were willing to try anything last night (June 9) against the Boston Red Sox to break it.

Enter Nickelback.

In an effort to break their 13-game losing streak (which Yahoo! Sports noted is a franchise record), the Angels decided their entire batting lineup last night would walk to the plate to a different Nickelback song. ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez noted the song choices via Twitter:

Unfortunately, the stunt didn’t work. The Angels were shut out 1-0 by the Red Sox and extended their losing streak to 14 games. Even in a loss, at least the Angels’ social media team had a bit of a sense of humor about it.
