People Around The World Celebrate Ringo Starr’s Birthday With Messages Of Peace And Love

Ringo Starr and his wife Barbara Starkey were joined on his birthday by family and friends, including current All Starrs Steve Lukather, Edgar Winter, Colin Hay, Warren Ham, and Gregg Bissonette, as well as friends Benmont Tench, Jim Keltner, Richard Marx, Matt Sorum, Ed Begley Jr., Linda Perry, Diane Warren, Roy Jr and Alex Orbison.

Ringo gave the “launch” command from a special celebration at his Peace and Love statue in Los Angeles to the Artemis Space Network Mission Control Center in Houston, beginning a musical space mission of Peace and Love to orbit the world and travel across the universe.

Ringo’s Peace and Love Space Mission includes Ringo’s ‘Starr Song,’ created by “sonifying” the celestial stars over Liverpool the day Ringo was born, and “Let’s Change the World,” the title cut from his album released in September 2021.

Ringo’s “Starr Song” and “Let’s Change the World” are now traveling across the universe—carrying Ringo’s message of Peace and Love from planet Earth.

The Beatles’ social media pages commemorated the big day with a great video compilation showing clips of Starr in various Beatles projects over the years, alongside fellow bandmates Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison.

Set to the song, “With a Little Help from My Friends,” written by Lennon and McCartney, sung by Starr and featured on the 1967 album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the clip includes milestone moments from his lengthy career and even behind-the-scenes footage.

Many other friends sent well wishes, including McCartney, who noted that it was also his father Jim McCartney’s birthday.

Continuing through July 10, one of the event sponsors, The Beatles Channel on SiriusXM, will air special programming celebrating Ringo’s birthday. Starbucks, one of the events amplifiers, will be playing a special Ringo Playlist in over 10,000 Starbucks stores.
