Metallica Booked for 2022 Global Citizen Festival

Metallica is confirmed as one of the many high-profile acts taking part in the 2022 Global Citizen Festival.

Per the band’s website, Metallica will headline the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, September 24 in New York’s Central Park. Other acts performing at the show include Charlie Puth, Jonas Brothers, MÅNESKIN, Mariah Carey, Mickey Guyton, and Rosalía. The festival aims to bring awareness to a number of issues. Those issues include global poverty, climate change and investing in education for women and girls in underserved countries.

The concert is broadcasting and livestreaming via a number of outlets including ABC, ABC News Live, FX, Hulu, Twitter, YouTube and more. An edited primetime special highlighting the festival with air on Sunday, September 25 at 7 PM EDT on ABC.

Metallica adds, “We would like to invite Fifth Members to join us in the park by entering to win free tickets to the show, but don’t wait too long! The contest closes Thursday, August 11, at 11:59 PM EDT with winners will be notified the next day. You may also score free tickets to the festivals by downloading the Global Citizen app or visiting GlobalCitizen.org to take action on the campaign’s issues. For each action taken, users earn points that can be redeemed for tickets to the festivals. VIP tickets are also available for purchase via Ticketmaster.com.”
