Michelle Branch Slapped Patrick Carney, Arrested for Domestic Violence

Michelle Branch was arrested on domestic violence charges after slapping her husband Patrick Carney, drummer for The Black Keys.

Per TMZ, the slapping incident took place in the early hours of Thursday (August 11.) Local Nashville police were called to the couple’s home for a “possible domestic disturbance.” In the documents on the incident obtained by TMZ, Branch said she slapped Carney “one to two times,” and Carney didn’t have “any visible injuries.” Branch was arrested, and her bail was set at $1,000.

Branch and Carney have been making all sorts of headlines today. Earlier, we reported the couple are splitting after three years of marriage. In a since-deleted tweet, Branch shared, “Just found out my husband cheated on me with his manager Haley McDonald from Full Stop Management while I was home with our 6 month old daughter.” (The couple also has a 4-year-old son.)

Branch would say in a statement to People, “To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward. With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”

Carney has yet to comment on the split, but Branch’s fans have come out in force on Twitter. Some of their reactions to Carney’s alleged infidelity can be viewed below.
