Adam Levine Says ‘Hot Chicks’ Don’t Like Metal, Metal Fans Respond

NBC’s The Voice judge/Maroon 5 “singer” Adam Levine has managed to piss off female metal fans whilst being exposed as a philandering jerk.

As has been widely reported, a 23-year-old Instagram model named Sumner Stroh recently took to TikTok to tell the world that she had an affair with him, while Levine’s wife was pregnant with their third child. Soon, other women claimed that he had sent them inappropriate DMs. One of those women, by the name of Maryka, came forward with some of the DMs she received. When this woman told Levine she only likes metal, Levine, 43, allegedly responded with, “Said no hot chicks ever other than you.”

The fact that Levine has the audacity to pass judgment on what would classify a woman as “hot” is exactly why people thought he was such a douche, even before we found out that he was cheating (or at least flirting) with women 20 years younger than him. (His wife, Behati Prinsloo, is just nine years younger.) And, of course, terms like “hot” and “sexy” are rather subjective.

When People named him “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2013, you could be sure that every metal chick responded with barf emojis — and that’s if they even knew who he was.

After all, if you like heavy music, Maroon 5 isn’t willingly on any playlist you’re listening to and you’re probably not watching The Voice (though he’s not a judge anymore). Having been to my fair share of metal and metalcore shows like Tool, The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Enter Shikari, Bring Me The Horizon, Emmure and Motionless in White, I think it is safe to say there are and were plenty of hot chicks in attendance — myself included. Just because your typical metal chick wears a lot of black and silver jewelry and black eyeliner doesn’t make them any less hot than your average basic bitch. And, as Stroh said, Maroon 5 “is basically elevator music by now.”
