Flea Launching Podcast Exploring When Musicians Fell in Love with Music

Flea is joining the podcasting game with a new show talking with fellow musicians and other guests about when they fell in love with music.

Per Rolling Stone, the show is called This Little Light, and it’s premiering on March 30. The podcast consists of 15 episodes and will feature a diverse slate of guests including Rick Rubin, Patti Smith, Margo Price, Cynthia Erivo, Thundercat and more. Some of the proceeds generated from the podcast with benefit the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, which is a non-profit music school co-founded by the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist.

Flea said in a statement about the podcast, “The idea behind it being music education, falling in love with music and embarking on a musical journey for your life. Everybody’s path is so different, and it’s fascinating to learn how every musician came to music and developed their study of it over time.”

Flea has a rather eventful 2023 ahead of him. In addition to his new podcast, he’ll be hitting the road with the Chili Peppers on their world tour. The dates range from headlining shows to festival gigs. For the headlining shows, which are primarily in North America, RHCP will be joined by a variety of special guests. Those guests include The Strokes, Iggy Pop, The Roots, St. Vincent, The Mars Volta, City and Colour, Thundercat and King Princess. Details on which guest will appear on which dates are listed below. As for the festival dates, those are taking place throughout Europe and include high-profile festivals including Pinkpop in the Netherlands.
