Nikki Sixx is another high-profile guest set to appear on Dolly Parton’s upcoming rock album.

Sixx shared this news via Twitter today (March 23.) The Motley Crue bassist wrote, “Played bass on a song for Dolly Parton yesterday. Been back in the gym again to beat the jet-lag from the tour and enjoying family time. Had a great interview with Sweden Rock magazine and they might even feature some of my street photography.”

Parton’s album, aptly titled Rock Star, is expected to come out in Fall 2023. She’s assembled quite the all-star guest lineup. In addition to Sixx, other guests confirmed for the album include Stevie Nicks, Paul McCartney, John Fogerty, Steve Perry and Steven Tyler.

Also confirmed for the album is REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin. He shared in February that he and the country music icon recorded a new version “Keep On Loving You.”

In December 2022, Parton appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when the topic of her rock LP came up. She shared, “We’re going to have a lot of great, iconic songs like [Prince’s] ‘Purple Rain’ [the Rolling Stones’] ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,’ [Led Zeppelin’s] ‘Stairway to Heaven,’ [Lynyrd Skynyrd’s] ‘Free Bird,’” said Parton.
