Matt Cameron is rumored to be stepping in on drums for the Foo Fighters on their upcoming 2023 shows. There has yet to be an announcement from the Foos as to who will be their drummer following the untimely death of Taylor Hawkins in March 2022. However, Cameron has taken it upon himself to address the ongoing rumors.
Per Loudwire, Cameron took to his Instagram stories on March 25, which happened to be the first anniversary of Hawkins’ passing. He simply wrote, “FYI the internet rumors are false, I haven’t joined the Foos.”
Foo Fighters have been mum on the subject of their drummer for the past year since Hawkins’ death. Whether or not they’ll make an announcement about a new drummer is seemingly up in the air. However, the topic won’t go away any time soon. The band is two months out from their first show of 2023. That show is a stand-alone solo gig on May 24 in Gilford, NH.
