Kurt Cobain? An Aerosmith fan? That’s not only true, but the Nirvana frontman and wife/Hole singer Courtney Love also once hung out with the Bad Boys of Boston.

Joe Perry recalled the hang-out in a new interview with Classic Rock. Cobain and Love visited Aerosmith backstage during one of their gigs.

“He was pretty quiet,” said Perry. “He just wanted to hang out. He came in the dressing room with Courtney and kind of just sat around with us. He was a normal guy.”

Perry added, “When he went off to the bathroom, Courtney — who was very verbal — said, ‘He loves you guys. He doesn’t like anybody, but he loves you guys.’ I had nothing but respect for the guy. He was an amazing songwriter and performer, and to hear that was great.”
