The Offspring is learning with the recent release of their 15th anniversary reissue for Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace that sh*t happens and mistakes get made.
Fans that picked up the reissue noticed it featured the “clean” versions of “You’re Gonna Go Far Kid,” “Nothingtown” and “Stuff Is Messed Up.” This was very much an error the band addressed in typical Offspring fashion.
The band issued a statement via social media that was very tongue-in-cheek and so explicitly laden we can’t embed it here. The statement can be read in its entirety here.
“We have no idea how this sh*t happened,” said the Offspring. “We didn’t even know there was a clean version!” Ever the gentlemen, they did offer up their “deepest f***ing apologies” over the mistake.
Many of the fans took to the comments about this funny statement. One fan commented, “Oh, so this clean version is going to be collectible.” However, many were relieved that the statement turned out to be a joke. A number of fans wrote how seeing an isolated text statement image had them brace for terrible news, but were pleasantly surprised.
The Offspring is currently on f***ing tour in Europe, but will return to states in August. They kick off a g**damn tour with those motherf***ers Simple Plan and Sum 41 on August 1. A complete list of all the f***ing dates can be found at Offspring.com.
