’80s Metal Docuseries Coming to Paramount+

A new docuseries about ’80s hair metal is premiering on Paramount+ next month.

I Wanna Rock: The 80’s Metal Dream features new interviews from some of the figures that experienced this wild musical ride. Among those interviewed include Dee Snider, Kip Winger, Dave “Snake” Sabo, Vicky Hamilton, John Corabi and Janet Gardner.

The series is separated into three parts highlighting the rise and fall of hair metal’s popularity in the United States. The first installment shows hair metal bands breaking out into the mainstream. The second installment shows how mega-fame impacts many of the scene’s biggest figures. Lastly, the third installment shows the genre wain in popularity with the emergence of grunge and country music.

I Wanna Rock: The 80’s Metal Dream premieres on Paramount+ on July 18. A trailer for the docuseries is below.
