Guns N’ Roses is expected to drop a new single soon, according to stage tech Tom Mayhue.
Per Loudwire, Mayhue, who’s been working with the band since the late ’80s, said, “They’ve got a bunch of stuff recorded already.” However, GN’R is working on more new music following the completion of their current European dates.
Mayhue also was quoted saying, “I think they’re trying to get a single out any day now, so you may hear something very, very soon.”
Buzz about new GN’R music started picking up steam last month. Urban Sound Studios shared a photo of Axl Rose and Slash at the Oslo-based recording facility that has since been deleted. Loudwire notes the photo was captioned, “We got to hang out with these 2 rock legends in the studio today. Really cool guys! The band wanted a nice studio with a variety of speakers and headphones to listen to new mixes before they head for Glastonbury. It sounds awesome!”
Guns N’ Roses have been pretty tight-lipped over new music. The last notable comment came from Slash in October 2022. The guitarist said, in part, “I want to go in and cut a whole brand new record at some point. Probably sooner than later. But other than that, we have stuff [that’s still] got to come out. So that’s gonna be coming out piecemeal over the next… few months or something like that.”
GN’R released two new tracks in 2021: “Absurd” and “Hard Skool.” “Absurd” was a reworking of “Silkworms,” a previously unreleased track reportedly from the recording sessions for Chinese Democracy. “Hard Skool” was also another track that originated from the recording sessions of Chinese Democracy.
