Elton John Testifies in Kevin Spacey Sexual Assault Trial

Elton John testified in support of Kevin Spacey during the actor’s current sexual assault trial in London.

Per the Associated Press, John appeared via video to debunk the accusation from one of the plaintiffs who says Spacey groped him while driving to the singer’s White Tie & Tiara Ball.

The plaintiff said the incident happened in 2004 or 2005. However, John testified that Spacey only attended the ball in 2001.

The AP noted, “The timeline, however, is important because the man testified that Spacey had fondled him over several years beginning in the early 2000s. The incident was the final occasion, he said, when he threatened to hit the actor and then avoided him.”

Additionally, John’s husband, David Furnish, also testified in the Spacey trial. He said the actor only attended the ball in 2001. Furnish said he personally reviewed all of the photographs taken at the annual ball from 2001 to 2005. He said Spacey was only photographed in 2001. He noted that all guests are photographed at the ball, so the photos are an accurate account of attendance.

The AP reported that the plaintiff said that while he may have misremembered the year of the ball, ” … he would not have forgotten the incident because it took his breath away and he almost crashed the car.”

Spacey had pled not guilty to the sexual assault charges brought before the London court by four accusers.
