Nickelback Will Shut Down Interviews About Why People Hate Them

Nickelback is done talking about the phenomenon of them being hated. In fact, they’re so done that they’re going to shut down an interview moving forward that brings it up.

While at the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of Nickelback: Hate to Love, Chad Kroeger touched on this topic with People. The frontman explains that since there’s a documentary exploring the hatred of Nickelback, there’s no reason to talk about it anymore.

“We made a documentary, everybody can watch it. And now from this day forward, if anybody asks that question in the press, it’s like that’s the end of the interview,” said Kroeger. “So if you want to end an interview, that’s all you have to say and that will be it.”

As previously reported, the film is directed by Leigh Brooks and takes a look at the incredibly successful career of Nickelback, despite being so notoriously hated. The trailer can be viewed below. (WARNING: Contains some NSFW language.) So far, a wide release of the documentary hasn’t been announced.

11 Butt Rock Songs that Actually Rule

With Creed reuniting for the first time in a decade, we can’t help but explore a certain controversial subgenre: Butt Rock.

The origins and definition of Butt Rock are murky, at best. One listing on Urban Dictionary defines the subgenre as, “A style of hard rock & heavy metal music that is watered down both musically and lyrically to garner maximum radio play and mainstream acceptance.” Typically, Butt Rock bands cropped up in the late ’90s and throughout the aughts. However, other Urban Dictionary definitions classify ’80s hair metal as Butt Rock, too.

Perhaps, Butt Rock is truly in the ear of the beholder. It might just be a derogatory term rock fans use on bands they don’t like. For the sake of this list, we’re classifying Butt Rock in relation to music released in the late ’90s and throughout the aughts.

Without further ado, here are 11 Butt Rock songs that actually rule.
