The Rolling Stones have confirmed some major details about their upcoming studio album, Hackney Diamonds.
In a new interview with The New York Times, the guest list on the LP includes Paul McCartney, Bill Wyman, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga and Elton John.
Sir Paul plays on “Bite My Head Off,” with the outlet noting he plays “a jabbing, distorted bass.” Wyman, who was the Stones’ original bassist, plays on “Live by the Sword,” which also features Sir Elton on, of course, piano.
Wonder and Gaga are featured on “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” with Wonder on keyboards and Gaga sharing vocals with Jagger. The New York Times refers to the track as “a gospel-charged song about music as salvation.”
Hackney Diamonds comes out on October 20. A full track list for the album is below, and it’s available for pre-order in a variety of formats at RollingStones.com.
During the September 6 press conference announcing the album, Mick Jagger said, “Before we went in, we said we all want to make a record that we really love, ourselves. People may like it, other people may not. But we must say this, we are quite pleased with it. … We hope you’ll like it.”
