Randy Bachman is bringing back Bachman-Turner Overdrive.

The news broke via social media with a statement reading, “Randy Bachman is thrilled to announce the resurrection of his iconic 70s rock band, and original BTO bassist and lead vocalist C. F. ‘Fred’ Turner is on track to start helping Randy put it all together as soon as he can.”

Joining Bachman in this revival of BTO is his son, Tal Bachman. Also tapped for the revival are Mick Dalla-Vee, Marc Lafrance and Brent Knudsen.

The statement also noted, “Randy, Fred, and Tal are already writing and recording new songs and planning tours around the world. A BTO concert movie (filmed in 1976) is slated for release 2024, as is a double live album recorded that same year at Tokyo’s Budokan Arena.”

Randy said in a personal statement, “I am thrilled. Beyond screaming out loud “YES-YES-YES” at the opportunity to carry on the BTO legacy. The emails from the fans, Blair Thornton, Fred Turner and Bruce Allen are a total green light getting me Back into Overdrive. Our set list is being shaped by Classic Rock Radio and the fans. Watch out USA: the band that put Overdrive into Rock and Roll is back. More heavy music to come!”
