The Last Dinner Party has announced details of a one-off “intimate variety show” in its hometown of London, due to take place next year.
The rising British band will take over Camden’s Roundhouse venue on February 1, 2024, with support from Heartworms. Fans can sign up for a special pre-sale by filling in a form here. Tickets will go on general sale at 10am BST on Friday (October 6).
“No particular reason for this event….none at all…but we recommend very very strongly that you attend, could be historical,” the band teased on its Twitter account.
The London gig will follow The Last Dinner Party embarking on a UK headline tour this month, which will see it headline London’s EartH, among other venues. Afterward, it will head to the US for its first headlining tour there before returning to the UK and Europe in December, where the five-piece will then join Hozier as support on his UK tour.
The Last Dinner Party shared its second single, “Sinner,” in June, in which it told, “a story of self-acceptance, and the longing for the past and present self to become one.” “Born from a breakbeat drum sample, ‘Sinner’ is punctuated by ripping guitar lines and harmony-filled vocal breakdowns,” guitarist Lizzie Mayland explained of the song, which was produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Jessie Ware).
The track followed its acclaimed debut single, “Nothing Matters.” Prior to releasing that track, the band built a loyal following with a series of UK club gigs and huge opening slots, including for The Rolling Stones at London’s Hyde Park.
Since putting out music, the five-piece’s shows have only become more rapturously received, with buzzed-about sets at festivals including Glastonbury, Latitude, End Of The Road, Green Man, and more. The band has also toured with Florence + The Machine between festival commitments.
