Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance at the annual Stand Up For Heroes benefit, where he performed with John Mellencamp.
Per Rolling Stone, Springsteen and Mellencamp performed “Wasted Days,” their 2021 duet. It marked the first time the singer-songwriters performed the song live together.
Following the duet, Springsteen performed his own mini four-song set. It included “Addicted To Romance,” “The Power of Prayer,” “Working on the Highway” and “Dancing In The Dark.”
“Addicted To Romance” is a new song from The Boss featured on the soundtrack of the film She Came to Me. Meanwhile, “The Power of Prayer” is from Springsteen’s 2020 album Letter to You.
Springsteen and His Health
This surprise performance is certainly promising for both Springsteen and his fans. In September, Springsteen postponed his current tour dates with the E Street Band, because he’s still recovering from peptic ulcer disease. Springsteen said in a personal statement, “Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support. I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”
In October, the first batch of their rescheduled tour dates was unveiled. So far, the new dates kick off in March 2024 and are sprinkled throughout the year in April, August and September. A full list of dates is below.
