The Weeknd has starred in a new trailer for Festival, a game from Rock Band studio Harmonix in which the singer is the headliner in a music-experience set to launch inside Fortnite on Saturday, December 9.

Festival lets fans perform notes along to the song playing in the game as they watch the Weeknd on stage, with users able to join in on accompaniment or take center stage with a solo.

In the trailer, Tesfaye, who wears different skins while dancing on stage to his Dawn FM song “Take My Breath,” is backed by a futuristic band. Check out the trailer above.

The Weeknd is the latest artist to team up with Fortnite for a music event, following on the heels of virtual concerts from stars like Eminem, Ariana Grande, Marshmello, Kid Cudi, and more.

The virtual event caps off a thrilling era for The Weeknd. Back in August, it was reported that he broke another record with his London shows for the number of ticket sales at Wembley Stadium.

The news was first highlighted by Live Nation UK, who announced that the artist born Abel Tesfaye had “broke Wembley Stadium’s record for sales with their traditional concert set up.”

In July, The Weeknd also broke the record for highest attendance across two nights with 160,000 at London Stadium. This significant moment took place with sold-out back-to-back shows on July 7 and 8 as part of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour.

The tour now holds the record for highest single night attendance for any show at the stadium with 80,000 fans. Kaytranada and Mike Dean joined on both nights.

“It’s incredible to see The Weeknd hit this milestone less than halfway through his massive sold-out European run,” said Omar Al-joulani, President, Touring, Live Nation in an interview with Variety. “This historic moment in London shows the global fanbase he has cultivated over the years.”
