‘Glen Campbell Duets: Ghost On The Canvas Sessions’ Set For Release

[[{“value”:”

The Glen Campbell Duets: Ghost on the Canvas Sessions will be released on April 19 via Big Machine Label Group. The album is a reworking of Glen Campbell’s 2011 album Ghost on the Canvas.

Each track will feature newly recorded guest vocals from a long list of Campbell’s musical peers and personal friends.

The record has a star-studded lineup of artists, including Carole King, Brian Wilson, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Sting, Dolly Parton, and many more. Check out the full tracklist below.

In 2017, Glen Campbell released a farewell album entitled Adiós. Carl Jackson, producer of that album, says he cried “happy and sad tears” when he listened to the finished record. It features vocals recorded by Campbell after the completion of his 2011-12 world tour and his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s disease.

uDiscover conducted an interview series which featured Jackson in Part 1 and Glen’s daughter and album contributor Ashley in Part 2. In Part 3, the producer and banjo player observed Campbell’s remarkably vocal versatility. “Glen could sing the phone book,” he said after the record’s release. “You’ve heard that many times, but he literally could and you’d want to buy it.

“Dickey Lee [co-writer of the song with Steve Duffy] called me the other day just thrilled we’d cut it. I wanted to do that because I was very aware of what Glen could do with a hardcore country song and hardcore country backing.”

“I treasure it [Adiós] because it’s Glen, and Glen is family, so it means the world to me,” Jackson added, agreeing that making Adiós was a bittersweet experience.  “Absolutely, I think that’s a very fair word because, oh my gosh, there’s so much love and memories and wonderful things, but there are sad things too. To not be able to really share it with him, or for him to understand it.”
