Dweezil Zappa has announced his first tour since 2020, set to kick off on August 1 in Phoenix, Arizona, before wrapping up in mid-September in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The son of legendary rocker Frank Zappa will also perform in Los Angeles, Denver, Minneapolis, Tarrytown, New York, and more.
Regarding the tour, Dweezil said: “I’m happy to be bringing the music of my father back to the stage for the first time in over four years and appreciate Universal for helping create awareness to Zappa fans all over the world”
The tour arrives 50 years after the release of Frank Zappa’s celebrated live disc The Roxy Performances. This legendary collection contains a quartet of concerts from the newly opened Roxy Theatre on LA’s Sunset Strip in 1973. Joined by what many consider to be one of his finest versions of The Mothers of Invention, Zappa delivered extraordinary performances of songs old and new, thrilling the lucky patrons both with his virtuoso skills and legendary panache as rock’s foremost bandleader.
