Keane Shares Previously Unreleased Song ‘Wonderful River’

Keane has shared the previously unreleased “Wonderful River.” This highly affecting song featuring a vocal from keyboardist Tim Rice-Oxley features on the deluxe 20th anniversary edition of the band’s landmark debut album, Hopes And Fears, set for release on May 10. The 20th anniversary edition of Hopes and Fears has been remastered and cut by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios. 5.1 Dolby Atmos mixes come from David Kosten. The new and improved master is also accompanied by the release of B-Sides, previously unreleased demos, and rarities such as “Wonderful River.” To herald the record’s new edition, Keane shared to a previously unheard demo of the group’s signature track, “Somewhere Only We Know” during February.

The Hopes And Fears reissue will be available for purchase in a number of formats, including as a 1 LP Galaxy Vinyl (Original Album Remastered) and a 2LP Coloured Vinyl (Original Album Remastered + B-Sides and Rarities). There will also be CD releases: a 3CD version (Original Album Remastered + B-Sides, Rarities + Demos) and a 2CD Live version (Original Album Remastered & Live Recordings from Mexico City 2024).

The most comprehensive edition of the remaster will be the Limited Edition Box Set Deluxe Edition (Numbered commemorative ticket, Hopes And Fears notebook, band silhouette print envelope containing 2 postcards designed by Dave Lupton (1 signed) fold out postcard frame, 3CD, 7” “Love Actually” vinyl single, printed inner bag w/ handwritten lyrics, and wall poster). Finally, the remaster will be available on Digital (All audio available on all DSPs).

On the same day as the celebratory release, the band will play the first of two London 02 Arena shows as part of a world tour that kicks off April 1 in Mexico City before reaching Europe and the UK. Later this year, the band’s US tour in September includes dates at iconic venues including LA’s Greek Theatre, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.
