John 5 Returns to the Sellersville Theater

John 5 and The Creatures  performed on a small stage alongside some inflatable monsters like what you might see in your neighbor’s yard at Halloween and his speakers were covered by video screens that showed clips from horror movies like The Shining, Jaws, A Clockwork Orange and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to name a few.

All of those songs he played were from John 5’s new live album, “It’s Alive,” which was recorded last April at the same Sellersville Theater. In all, the show included 13 of the disc’s 16 songs.

John 5 acknowledged the disc late in the set, telling the crowd, “It’s live from Sellersville. You guys are famous. When he asked the crowd how many of them had been these for the recorded show, three-quarters of the audience raised their hands.

“We love this place,” the guitarist said, and had the crowd pose for a photo he said will be used on subsequent pressings of the disc.

John 5 covered Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” and had the crowd sing the choruses.

Closing the show was a 10-minute medley that featured the riffs from 20 songs – from Van Halen’s “Hot For Teacher,” Ted Nugent’s “Cat Scratch Fever,” Alice in Chains’ “Man in a Box,” Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak,” Police’s “Roxanne,” Rush’s “Limelight,” Tom Petty’s “American Girl” and Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir.”
