LL COOL J Announces Release Date For ‘The FORCE,’ Shares ‘Passion’

LL COOL J has announced that his 14th studio album The FORCE, will be released on Friday, September 6 via Def Jam Recordings/Virgin Music Group.

The 14-track record features Nas, Eminem, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Saweetie, Snoop Dogg, Don Pablito, J-S.A.N.D., Mad Squablz, and Sona Jobarteh.

The FORCE, which stands for Frequencies of Real Creative Energy, was produced in entirety by A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip. The New York legend said the album was like “learning how to rap again.”

He added: “It’s like a director going back to film school after he’s had blockbusters, or Denzel going back to acting class.”

He continued: “We’re talking 14 tracks of straight fire, all crafted by myself and the one and only Q-Tip,” LL said. “When you listen to this album, you’re not just hearing music, you’re experiencing a whole new vibe, a whole new level of artistic passion.”

To celebrate the release date reveal, LL has also shared a new album track, “Passion,” which arrived alongside an official music video. Check that out above.

On the track, the veteran MC spits: “Floor seats, who need ticket?/ Time’s up, get ya signs and pickets/ Wanna see me in the desert but ya man’s liquid.”

The track follows another pre-release single in the form of “Saturday Night Special,” which found LL and Q-Tip recruiting Rick Ross and Fat Joe for a summer smash. Check out the tracklist for the album below.
