The Weeknd To Perform One-Night-Only Concert in São Paulo Hannah Zwick

Fresh off receiving his seventh Diamond-certified record, The Weeknd has announced a unique one night only stadium show in São Paulo. On Friday, September 7th, 2024 the superstar will take the stage at Estádio MorumBIS and debut a never-before-seen production.

Tickets will be available starting with an artist presale beginning Monday, July 22nd at 10am BRT. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Thursday, July 25th at 10am BRT at TheWeeknd.com/SaoPaulo.

The special event follows The Weeknd’s record-breaking 2022/2023 After Hours Til Dawn Tour, which saw him play over 60 sold-out stadium dates with over 3 million attendees across North America, Europe, the UK and Latin America. The tour saw him make two stops in São Paulo last October, when he performed at Allianz Parque.

As a United Nations World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye will partner with the U.N. World Food Programme to contribute funds from the São Paulo show to the XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports the organization’s response to the unprecedented global hunger crisis. $1 local equivalent from each ticket sold will go to this important cause.

Tesfaye has not yet shared details about what fans can expect from this new production, but he has never shied away from a spectacle onstage. The After Hours Til Dawn Tour switched up the set design for each leg of the tour. In the U.S., Tesfaye wore black while the dancers wore red, and in Europe he wore white with chrome set pieces. The switch was also practical, he explained to Variety that “the sun is a big factor in the stadiums — we knew that we were going to be performing in the daytime, and the set that we had in America wouldn’t complement the show, so we’ve got sun rays hitting the chrome, metallic reflections.”

Fans who missed the tour, or fans who attended and simply want to relive it, can watch the concert special The Weeknd – Live At Sofi Stadium on HBO. The concert film first aired on HBO in February 2023.

Listen to the best of The Weeknd on Apple Music and Spotify.
