Armand Van Helden Remixes Def Leppard Classic ‘Photograph’

Def Leppard have revealed a new Armand Van Helden remix of their hit “Photograph.”

Van Helden debuted the remix today on BBC Radio 1 Ibiza. It’s Def Leppard’s first collaboration with the veteran Boston producer, who also performs regularly with Canadian DJ A-Trak as the duo Duck Sauce.

“Photograph” initially appeared on Def Leppard’s seminal 1983 album Pyromania. The record was the first Def Leppard album to feature guitarist Phil Collen after Pete Willis’ departure. It reached No. 2 on the U.S. charts and has since been certified platinum.

Earlier this year, Def Leppard shared a deluxe 40th anniversary edition reissue of Pyromania. The 4-disc box set, which included a full disc of never-before-heard demos and footage of two defining live shows from the period, was released to critical acclaim, with Guitar World christening it “a masterpiece.”

This new remix follows Def Leppard’s June standalone single “Just Like 73,” which features Tom Morello. It marks their first song with the Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave co-founder. Def Leppard lead singer Joe Elliott shared of the song: “It encapsulates a time that burned deep into our DNA. We wanted to celebrate that very important and glorious time.” Morello added: “I played ‘Rock of Ages’ in my college cover band almost 40 years ago and here Def Leppard are still killing it in stadiums with a brand new tune that’s one of their best.”

Order Def Leppard’s “Just Like 73” now.
