Justin Bieber‘s 2010 hit “Baby” ft. Ludacris has officially joined Spotify’s Billion Streams club. The achievement extends the Canadian pop star’s record as the artist with the most songs over 1 billion streams in Spotify’s history.

The lead single from Bieber’s debut studio album My World 2.0, “Baby was written by Bieber, Ludacris, Christina Milian, Tricky Stewart and The-Dream. When it debuted at No. 5, it became Bieber’s highest-charting single in the US ever; today, it’s certified Platinum 12 times over by the RIAA.

Among the biggest YouTube stars of all time, Bieber’s origin story involves Scooter Braun spotting a home video Bieber uploaded on the site in 2007, then signing him to a major label a year later. The “Baby” music video, which features cameos from Drake, Tinashe, and more, has garnered over three billion views on YouTube.

When “Baby” first released, Ludacris, who met Bieber in 2009 in Atlanta, emphasized in an interview with MTV News that the singer wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

“When I first met Justin, man, I felt like he’s definitely a little shy at first,” Ludacris said. “I understand. I’m kind of the same way till I get comfortable with my surroundings, and then it’s just all out, just wild. Oh man, his career is just starting. When I tell you the longevity — he’s out of here.”

Bieber shared his most recent album, Justice, in 2021. In addition to the Billboard No. 1 hit “Peaches” with Daniel Caesar, the record also featured Khalid, Chance the Rapper, The Kid LAROI, Dominic Fike, and more. Bieber cancelled a planned world tour of the album in late 2022 after revealing a diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused him to experience intermittent partial facial paralysis. Earlier this year, he and his wife, the model Hailey Bieber, announced that they’re expecting their first child. The pair have been in a relationship since 2016.
