A gifted songwriter, Pagan is considered one of the most beloved Latin artists of the 20th century. Pagan is known for his sweet falsetto, and has a style reminiscent of artists like Curtis Mayfield and Hector Lavoe.

He had a short but storied career, releasing five studio albums over the course of a decade. This first album, Ralfi Pagan, was produced by Kenny Vance and was originally issued in Spanish, then reissued with four English songs. In 1972, the Nuyorican singer-songwriter released With Love, which generated the hit single “Make It With You,” a cover originally written by David Gates and originally recorded by the pop-rock group Bread. The song landed him a spot on the TV show Soul Train, which made him one of the first Latin artists to appear on the show.
