Big Sean has returned with a new album, Better Me Than You.

The Detroit rapper’s sixth studio album features Cash Cobain, DJ Premier, Ellie Goulding, Gunna, Syd, Teyana Taylor, The Alchemist, Thundercat, and many more. It marks his first solo studio project since 2020’s Detroit 2, which has since been certified RIAA platinum.

To celebrate the release, Big Sean has also shared a music video for highlight track “Who You Are (Superstar).” The clip stars Amine, Dylan Patel, Jazz Cartier, Mark Phillips, and Taye Diggs. On Friday, August 30th, a conversation with Big Sean at the Grammy Museum brings the rapper to the Clive Davis Theater to discuss the new release, his creative process, and much more.

Big Sean shared his debut album Finally Famous on Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam imprint in 2011. Since then, he’s won seven BET Awards and collected 21 multi-platinum, platinum and gold-certified hit singles. Career highlights thus far include “IDFWU,” “Bounce Back,” and the Grammy-nominated “Mercy” feat. Pusha T and 2 Chainz.

In addition to supporting his latest record, Big Sean is also currently in the process of rolling out his first book, Go Higher, which will be released via Simon and Schuster. His work outside of music also includes the Sean Anderson Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which assists in the education, health, safety and well-being of school aged youth in underserved communities across the country.

Big Sean first confirmed the album earlier this week via Instagram, during a Live session where he thanked his family for their guidance in the endeavor. “I appreciate my mom for being that guardian angel always giving me that advice. She really talked me through it for real.”
