The U.S. Army has officially initiated an investigation into why two AH-64 Apache attack helicopters were filmed hovering outside the Tennessee residence of Kid Rock this past Saturday. Major Jonathon Bless, a public affairs officer with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, confirmed that leadership is aware of the social media footage and has launched a formal review to determine the circumstances surrounding the activity. The video, filmed at the musician's Whites Creek mansion known as the "Southern White House," shows one helicopter hovering low near a pool while a second aircraft passes at a higher altitude.

While the artist used the video to showcase a "level of respect" he claimed political detractors would never know, critics have raised concerns over the potential misuse of taxpayer-funded military equipment for a private celebrity appearance. Adding to the tension, reports have surfaced that an Apache helicopter also flew over a "No Kings" protest in Nashville on the same day. While Army officials noted that pilots frequently fly routes outside of Fort Campbell for training purposes, the investigation will determine if the flyby at the Ritchie residence was incidental or a deliberate, unauthorized maneuver.

Judas Priest has officially entered the studio to begin work on their 20th studio album. Guitarist Richie Faulkner revealed in a recent interview with The Metal Voice that the band spent a month in February "laying the foundations" for the new material. While Faulkner admitted he wasn't entirely sure if he was allowed to share the news yet, he confirmed that the sessions have focused on building song structures and following up on the momentum of their highly successful 2024 release, Invincible Shield. Bassist Ian Hill had previously hinted at a 2026 recording window, noting that the band is in no rush and expects the process to be a deliberate one.

The recording news comes as the band prepares for a massive year in other media, including the North American premiere of their official documentary, The Ballad of Judas Priest, at the Hot Docs festival in Toronto this April. Co-directed by Tom Morello and Sam Dunn, the film traces the band’s 50-year journey from Birmingham to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Additionally, frontman Rob Halford is slated to guest on an upcoming heavy metal project from William Shatner. While a release date for the new album has not been set, the band is expected to support the record with a world tour once it is completed.
