Get ready for a new audio series about Muhammad Ali. Ali in Me, a new Audible Original from Mercury Studios and Treefort Media, explores the boxing legend’s life and legacy. The eight-part podcast is hosted by Ali’s wife, Lonnie Ali, and his close friend John Ramsey.

Available starting Jan. 23, Ali in Me is billed as an examination of Ali’s lasting impact in the boxing ring and beyond, particularly his commitment to fighting injustice. The series incorporates never-before-heard audio of Ali as well as original music, sound design, poetry, and interviews with special guests including Will Smith (who famously portrayed Ali in the boxer’s eponymous biopic), Billy Crystal, Mike Tyson, Common, Rosie Perez, Bob Costas, Killer Mike, Ali’s daughter Laila Ali, and more.

“Our vision for this podcast is to fill the void left when we lost Muhammad,” Lonnie Ali said. “More than ever, the power of Muhammad’s example, along with the simple truth of his words, can help uplift and inspire humanity.”

“Muhammad was the best example of the human spirit I’ve ever witnessed,” Ramsey added. “He lured me in with his athleticism, but by watching him spread love so unselfishly, I learned a new definition of being a man. He was a champion not just of boxing, but of humanity.”

Barak Moffitt, Ali in Me’s executive producer and head of Mercury Studios North America, shared his own perspective on the project. “Our intent with the series was to provide Lonnie and John an elevated creative vehicle for exploring Muhammad Ali’s unparalleled humanity and sharing their deeply personal recollections and insights,” Moffitt said. “We are profoundly grateful to all the contributors who shared so openly, and to Audible for supporting this vision.”

Ali died in 2016 at age 74 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. He is known around the world by his nickname, “The Greatest,” recognizing his formidable career as a heavyweight boxer as well as his history of social activism. In 1999, Sports Illustrated named him the Sportsman of the Century, and the BBC recognized him as the Sports Personality of the Century.
