Univision has announced the 2025 Premio Lo Nuestro nominations, with Becky G and Carín León leading the pack with 10 nominations each. Artist of the Year nominees include Karol G, Feid, Peso Pluma, and Shakira among more superstars in the world of Latin music.

Hosted by Laura Pausini, Thalia, and Alejandra Espinoza, the ceremony will air live at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, February 20th via Univision, UNIMÁS, and Vix. This year’s theme is “Uniendo Generaciones” (Uniting Generations), intending to pay tribute to songs that connect the past, present, and future of Latin music.

Nominations for Premio Lo Nuestro are “based on airplay on Uforia stations and take into account airtime on Univision Radio, streaming data, and evaluation by a Television Committee composed of music and entertainment industry experts,” according to a press statement. Fans are able to vote for their favorite artists from January 22nd to February 4th on the Premio Lo Nuestro website.

Six of the ceremony’s 44 categories are new additions this year: Best Dembow Song, Best Latin Fusion Pop Song, Best Christian Music Song, Best “EuroSong”, Mexican Music Fusion of the Year, and Best Electro Corrido.

The competition for a classic category, Song of the Year, will be tight this year. Nominees include Feid & Rema for “Bubalu,” Becky G, Ángela Aguilar & Leonardo Aguilar for “Por El Contrario,” Shakira & Cardi B for “Puntería,” and Karol G for “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.”

Back in December, it was announced that Artist and Song of the Year nominee Karol G will be getting a Netflix documentary this year. A release date has not yet been shared, but the singer posted a teaser on social media: “A story born from dreams that seemed impossible, fueled by unwavering faith,” reads a note written on a piece of paper decorated with red hearts and the Netflix logo stamped on it. “A relentless journey that defied all odds. My life. My work. My truth. And the powerful connection I share with you all. My dream came true.”
