New Kenny Rogers ‘The Gambler’ Remix, EP On The Way

Kenny Rogers’ 1978 classic “The Gambler” will see a new set of remixes and a special Spanish-language release this month. March marks five years since the legendary singer passed away in 2020 at the age of 81.

Kicking off the month-long release slate is a remix from electronic duo VAVO. Their remix blends Rogers’ country classic with a new bass-boosted foundation. In a statement, VAVO called the remix a “career-defining moment for us.” Rogers’ signature hit, “The Gambler” won Rogers a Grammy; is included in the Library of Congress; and spawned the lead character in a series of popular made-for-TV movies, starting with the Emmy-nominated Kenny Rogers as The Gambler.

On top of the new remix, rare 1981 Spanish-language renditions of Rogers’ biggest hits will also see a streaming release this month, becoming available digitally for the first time on March 14th via the EP ¡Viva Kenny! on March 14. The collection includes Spanish versions of hits like “Don’t Fall in Love With a Dreamer” and “She Believes in Me,” which were originally released only in Latin America and Spain.

Finally, on March 28th, nearly the entire catalogue of The First Edition, the group Rogers fronted before his solo career took off, will hit streaming for the first time. Their hits include “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town” and “But You Know I Love You.” Founded in 1967, the group stayed together with Rogers at the forefront until 1976. They’ve reunited twice: in 2010 and for a run of shows between 2013 and 2014.

One of the best selling music artists in history, Kenny Rogers has charted more than 120 hit singles across various genres. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013, but his career has also spanned jazz, folk, pop and rock.
