A bass guitar used in The Clash’s song ‘Smashed’ from their album ‘London Calling’ will be exhibited at a new museum in London.

The smashed bass from The Clash’s famous album, London Calling, will be on display at the new London Museum in Smithfield, England. This iconic Fender Precision Bass guitar belongs to Paul Simonon of The Clash and was previously shown at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Simonon famously smashed the bass during a concert at New York’s Palladium on September 20, 1979, and the moment was captured by photographer Pennie Smith.

The bass will be featured in the museum’s Past Lives exhibit, which aims to take visitors on a journey through London’s history with various displays. The London Museum is set to open on November 28 in Smithfield’s General Market. For more details about the museum, you can visit their website.
