A memoir by Jennifer Finch, published after her death, is set to be released in 2027.

L7 bassist Jennifer Finch’s memoir will be published on Jan. 19, 2027. The book is called Shooting Up and Making Out: A Memoir of My Life in LA and L7. Finch finished the book before she died on July 18 at age 59 after a diagnosis of brain cancer.

Co-writer Jeff Alulis says the memoir was the last major project Finch completed. He and Finch spent two years shaping the book. He says she was very careful about every word. He is sad she won’t see it published but glad her story will be out there.

Many musicians have shared memories of Finch, including Donita Sparks of L7, Courtney Love and Melissa Auf der Maur of Hole, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins.

L7 will start a farewell tour in October. Fans can expect to hear songs and memories tied to Finch’s life and work.
