A Night of Metal Madness: Static-X, Sevendust, Dope, and Lines of Loyalty Bring the Machine Killer Tour to the Tropicana in Atlantic City

In the heart of Atlantic City, on February 9, 2024 the Tropicana played host to a night of heavy metal mayhem featuring Static-X, Sevendust, Dope, and Lines of Loyalty.

As the doors to the Tropicana Showroom swung open, a wave of anticipation washed over the crowd. Metalheads of all shapes and sizes streamed in, the atmosphere crackled with energy, a potent mix of adrenaline and anticipation hanging thick in the air.

Lines of Loyalty kicked off the evening’s festivities with a ferocious onslaught of sound. Despite their relatively unknown status, they wasted no time in making their presence felt. Their blistering riffs and thunderous rhythms cut through the air like a knife, commanding the attention of all in attendance. Lead vocalist Jake’s primal screams reverberated off the walls, adding an extra layer of intensity to their performance. Though their set was short, Lines of Loyalty left a lasting impression on the crowd, setting the stage for the chaos that was to come.

Next up was Dope, and they wasted no time in launching into their signature brand of industrial-infused metal. Frontman Edsel Dope prowled the stage like a caged animal, his gravelly vocals cutting through the cacophony of sound with razor-sharp precision. The band’s relentless energy was infectious, drawing the crowd in and refusing to let go. Hits like “Die MF Die” and “Debonaire” had the audience chanting along, fists pumping in the air in unison.

As Sevendust took the stage, the energy in the room reached a fever pitch. With their reputation as one of the premier live acts in metal, expectations were high – and Sevendust did not disappoint. From the moment they launched into “I Might Let the Devil Win,” it was clear that they were here to leave their mark. Lead vocalist Lajon Witherspoon’s soulful vocals soared above the thunderous instrumentation, captivating the audience with every note. Tracks like “Denial” and “Black” hit like a sledgehammer, each riff landing with bone-shattering force.  Extra security had to be brought in to the venue to help control the frenzy that Sevendust had created!!

Finally, it was time for the main event – Static-X. With the tragic passing of frontman Wayne Static, there was a sense of apprehension in the air – but as soon as the band launched into “Hollow,” any doubts were quickly dispelled. Vocalist Xer0 may not have been Wayne, but he brought his own unique energy and intensity to the stage, channeling the spirit of the late frontman with every scream and growl. The band tore through hits like “Bled for Days” and “Cold,” their industrial-infused metal sending shockwaves of energy through the crowd.

As the final notes of “Push It” faded away and the lights came up, a sense of euphoria washed over the crowd. Static-X, Sevendust, Dope, and Lines of Loyalty had delivered a night of pure, unadulterated metal madness, leaving the audience exhausted but exhilarated.
