A Perfect Circle’s 2003 album Thirteenth Step is getting a reissue as part of the Definitive Sound Series. The DSS release uses a One-Step vinyl process that aims for higher clarity, depth and dynamic range. The label says the process preserves the album’s original sound while revealing more of its layered instrumentation and wide soundscapes.
The DSS edition of Thirteenth Step arrives Aug. 28. This is the second A Perfect Circle album to get the treatment — their 2000 debut Mer de Noms was released in the series earlier. The band’s most recent full album is 2018’s Eat the Elephant, and they released a new single, “Starless,” in May.
