Cherry Red Records is set to release *Animals Against The Wall — A Tribute To Pink Floyd Volume II* on May 1 through its Lemon imprint. This exciting collection features covers of two iconic Pink Floyd albums from the late 1970s: *Animals* (1977) and *The Wall* (1979). The tribute comes in a 3-CD clamshell box and includes performances by a variety of rock musicians.
Fans can get their hands on the collection starting April 24. This release follows the label’s previous tribute set, *Shining On — Pink Floyd Tribute Collection*, which focused on *The Dark Side of the Moon* and *Wish You Were Here*.
*Animals Against The Wall* highlights the creative partnership between Roger Waters and David Gilmour during this era. The lineup of contributors is impressive, featuring names like Ian Anderson, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Alan White, Keith Emerson, Robby Krieger, Al Di Meola, Arthur Brown, Billy Cobham, Vinnie Moore, Graham Bonnet, John Wetton, Adrian Belew, Glenn Hughes, and Tommy Shaw.
The performances aim to capture the essence of the original recordings while adding modern production touches. Updated arrangements give these classic songs a fresh feel.
Discs one and two cover *The Wall* in its entirety. Notable collaborations include Adrian Belew with Alan White and Steve Porcaro on “In The Flesh?” and John Wetton teaming up with Adrian Belew and Alan White on another track. Tommy Shaw also makes an appearance.
Disc three reimagines *Animals* with five tracks. Nick van Eede from Cutting Crew collaborates with Martin Barre from Jethro Tull, while Graham Bonnet joins Vinnie Moore, Kasim Sulton, Jordan Rudess, and Pat Mastelotto for another standout track.
Get ready for a unique tribute that celebrates the music of Pink Floyd!
