Anthrax has wrapped up mixing their first album since 2016’s *For All Kings*. Drummer Charlie Benante shared the news on his Facebook story, revealing that the band completed their sessions at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Northridge, California. He posted a photo with Grohl at the studio, giving fans a glimpse of the collaboration.
Benante described the new album as a “very New York Album,” saying it’s the kind of music you can enjoy while grabbing a slice of pizza and walking around. Producer Jay Ruston, who worked on *For All Kings* and the 2011 album *Worship Music*, is handling the mixing sessions. That album earned them a GRAMMY nomination, so expectations are high for this new release.
Notably, vocalist Joey Belladonna and guitarist Jon Donais were not in the studio photo, but fans are still excited about the project. Anthrax is part of the legendary “Big Four” of thrash metal, alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. These bands have shaped the genre and continue to influence new generations of musicians.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Anthrax took advantage of the concert shutdown to write new material. While there’s no release date or first single announced yet, fans are eagerly waiting for more updates. Stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting new chapter for Anthrax!
