Apple Music has shared the latest round of its much-anticipated 100 Best Albums of all time collection. Selections 70-61 include releases from N.W.A., Portishead, Erykah Badu, 2Pac, and more.
N.W.A.’s 1988 studio debut Straight Outta Compton arrives at No. 70 while Portishead’s 1994 classic Dummy clocks in at No. 67. Elsewhere, Erykah Badu’s 1997 debut Baduizm is No. 64 while 2Pac’s 1996 album All Eyez on Me comes in at No. 62. Other entries in the section include Is This It by The Strokes, The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths, Love Deluxe by Sade, and Master of Puppets by Metallica.
Apple Music has stated that the list is an editorial effort independent of streaming numbers. It was assembled by a team that includes artists like Maren Morris, Pharrell Williams, J Balvin, Charli XCX, Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, Honey Dijon, and Nia Archives, alongside other songwriters, producers, and music industry professionals.
New and exclusive content and Apple Music Radio episodes will arrive as the list is revealed across ten days. The top ten will be revealed on May 22 with a roundtable discussion between Nile Rodgers and Maggie Rogers as well as Apple Music’s Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden.
