Ariana Grande has announced an expanded edition of eternal sunshine, one of the most successful albums of 2024. eternal sunshine deluxe: brighter days ahead is set for release on March 28, just over a year after the original album’s chart-topping debut. Further details on brighter days ahead, including the tracklist and any guest features, remain under wraps for now.

eternal sunshine debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with 227,000 in first-week sales, which was 2024’s biggest album debut at that point. It was the only album to yield multiple No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 last year, “yes, and?” and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love),” both of which debuted atop the chart. The latter track is RIAA-certified as double Platinum, while “yes, and?” and “the boy is mine” achieved Platinum status. Both “yes, and?” and “the boy is mine” were nominated for awards at the 2025 Grammys.

After the tremendous reception to eternal sunshine, Grande continued her big year with the release of Wicked: Part I, the film adaptation of the classic Broadway musical Wicked, in which she starred as Galinda Upland opposite Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba Thropp. The movie was a box office smash, grossing $473.2 million in the United States and $733.8 million globally. Its companion album Wicked: The Soundtrack topped the Billboard Album Sales chart with 85,000 in first-week sales and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 139,000 overall units, the largest soundtrack debut for a stage-to-screen adaptation.

Grande’s performance as Galinda was widely hailed as a triumph. Her mix of comic timing, dramatic chops, powerhouse singing, and physical performance earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2025 Academy Awards, where she and Erivo opened the ceremony with a show-stopping medley. Grande was also nominated at the Golden Globes, the BAFTA Awards, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
