The duo planned to perform an English version of “Red Swan” in Central Park before severe weather forced the event’s cancellation.
Japanese rock musician Yoshiki revealed that Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose met him in a New York City studio in September to rehearse a joint performance for the Global Citizen Festival. The pair planned to perform the English version of “Red Swan” on the Great Lawn in Central Park on Sept. 26. However, organizers called off the event alongside New York City officials and NYC Parks due to severe weather warnings, marking the first cancellation in the festival’s 14-year history.
A studio photo posted in late September by Guns N’ Roses manager Fernando Lebeis had initially fueled online fan speculation regarding potential new music from the band. While Guns N’ Roses completed the North American leg of their tour in mid-September and are scheduled to head to Asia, Australia, and New Zealand in November, no new album has been officially confirmed.
