Who Let The Dogs Out,” one of the most famous pop songs of the 21st century, is getting a fresh twist. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the iconic track by the Baha Men, and Wuki and DJ Susan are celebrating with a brand-new remix.
DJ Susan shared her excitement, saying, “This song was everything to me growing up. I played it nonstop — in the car, on my CD player, and I was obsessed with the music video. Being part of its legacy now is surreal. It’s a full-circle moment for me, and my younger self would’ve never believed it. It’s a huge honor to reimagine this record with my friend Wuki.”
Originally released on July 26, 2000, the Baha Men’s album “Who Let The Dogs Out” went triple platinum. The title track hit the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a cultural phenomenon, featured in movies like “Rugrats In Paris,” “Men In Black II,” and “The Shaggy Dog.” It was also a favorite at sporting events in the early 2000s and won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2001.
The Baha Men have continued to tour over the years, with more dates planned for 2025. Despite the song’s long history, group founder Isiah Thomas mentioned in a 2015 interview that performing it live is always special. “The fans really give life to that song,” he said.
