Benee has announced the forthcoming release of her new EP, Lychee, out March 4 via Republic Records. To celebrate the news, Benee released a new single “Beach Boy.”

Benee headed out to Los Angeles from her native New Zealand to record the new project. In a press release, she said the music came from a “great creative space” in spite of being created during “the craziest time in all our lives.” Benee previously previewed the project with “Doesn’t Matter.”

“‘Beach Boy’ is pure fantasy, set in LA,” she said in a statement. “It’s about being happy alone, but still wanting some love; wanting the thrill without the pain. It was the first time I’d worked with Greg Kurstin, and it was so sick… we got on super well, and I love this track… I think it is perfect for cruising down the freeway with the top down.”

In support of the project, Benee will embark on a North American headlining tour beginning on May 31 in Montreal before heading stateside with stops in Washington D.C., Seattle, Los Angeles, and more, as well as festival sets at Governors Ball and Bonnaroo. See the tour dates and tracklist for Lychee below.
