Billie Eilish And FINNEAS Win Golden Globe For ‘No Time To Die’

Billie Eilish and FINNEAS won their first Golden Globe last night (January 9) for their Bond theme, “No Time To Die.”

The track was originally released in February 2020 – before the accompanying movie was delayed several times due to the pandemic – and led the soundtrack for Daniel Craig’s final outing as the iconic British spy.

Nominated alongside songs from King Richard, Encanto, Belfast and Respect, “No Time To Die” was named the winner at a pared-back, non-televised event in Los Angeles. Neither artist attended the awards show, nor have they commented on the victory at the time of writing.

“No Time To Die” is now the third Bond theme to win Best Original Song at the Golden Globes, following wins by Adele’s “Skyfall” in 2013 and Sam Smith’s “Writing’s On The Wall” (from Spectre) in 2016.

The Golden Globe adds to Eilish and FINNEAS’ burgeoning trophy cabinet, which also includes the Grammy for Best Song Written For Visual Media for the Bond track, as well as six more Grammys and awards from the AMAs, BBMAs, BRITs, ARIAs, EMAs, VMAs and many more.

Meanwhile, Eilish is in the running for seven Grammys at this year’s event, including Album Of The Year for Happier Than Ever and Record and Song Of The Year for the album’s title track. The ceremony was scheduled to be held on January 31 but has been postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Last week, it was reported that the 20-year-old pop star could add another honour to her resumé with a headline set at Coachella 2022 said to be on the cards. Variety reported that Eilish had been approached to top the bill at the Californian festival alongside Kanye West. It would be the star’s first performance there since her monumental appearance at the 2019 edition.
