The 36th annual GLAAD Media Awards has announced their 2025 list of nominees, with Billie Eilish, Elton John, Doechii, Kali Uchis, Joy Oladokun, Remi Wolf, and The Last Dinner Party among them. The ceremony is set to take place in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 27th.

The GLAAD Media Awards “recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community and the issues that affect their lives.” Accolades are awarded across industries, including film, television, video games, and, of course, music. Musicians are nominated for Outstanding Music Artist, which honors albums, or Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist. Last year’s winners were Reneé Rapp and David Archuletta, respectively.

Nominees for Outstanding Music Artist are Adam Lambert, Afters, Billie Eilish, Hit Me Hard and Soft, Doechii, Alligator Bites Never Heal, Elton John, Never Too Late: Soundtrack to the Disney+ Documentary, Joy Oladokun, Observations from a Crowded Room, Kali Uchis, Orquídeas, Omar Apollo, God Said No, Orville Peck, Stampede, Tove Lo, Heat, and Victoria Monét, Jaguar II: Deluxe.

Nominees for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist are Beabadoobee, The Blessed Madonna, Durand Bernarr, Gigi Perez, The Last Dinner Party, Medium Build, Michaela Jaé, Remi Wolf, Villano Antillano, and Young Miko.

A statement from GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis shares, “The GLAAD Media Awards were created nearly four decades ago to champion LGBTQ stories amid a deeply hostile and unsafe time for our community. Today, this mission holds true and ever-more important as attacks against LGBTQ people are not only growing, but finding new avenues. Whether it’s rampant misinformation or defamation of transgender people, LGBTQ youth, or the shocking corporate rollback of policies and programs that keep LGBTQ people seen and safe in a workforce, what will always prevail is our truth and talent.”

“This year’s nominees for the 36th GLAAD Media Awards represent the best of our vibrant community, spanning across all media, genres and mediums, and send a loud and global message to industry leaders that our stories are not only popular and entertaining, but necessary and culture-changing.”
