Billy Currington, the multi-platinum country star, has announced his new studio album, *King of the World*, set to release on October 24 through MCA. Along with the announcement, he has shared a new track titled “One Thing I Ain’t Been.” In this song, Currington reflects on what he hasn’t been, singing, “’Cause the one thing I ain’t been/Is yours.”
Currington co-wrote several songs on *King of the World* with renowned songwriters like Dean Dillon and Scotty Emerick, along with contributions from Corey Crowder, Johnny Clawson, and Ben Hayslip. Tracks like “Run For My Whiskey,” “Burnin’ The Midnight Gasoline,” and “Bourbon Sunset” promise to deliver a fun listening experience. Produced by Carson Chamberlain, this album marks Currington’s seventh studio release, following 2021’s *Intuition*, which explored ’80s synth-pop and R&B.
He previously released the title track, “King of the World,” written by his late collaborator Troy Jones. This song captures a relaxed summer vibe, with lyrics about enjoying life on the water.
Over his 20-year career, Currington has achieved 12 No. 1 singles, including hits like “People Are Crazy” and “Good Directions.” He is currently on tour with fellow country artist Kip Moore, who released *Solitary Tracks* earlier this year. The tour includes 16 stops in major cities, including Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on September 19. Supporting them is Marlon Funaki, an up-and-coming guitarist with a soulful sound.
